According to gerontologists the older one gets the more they need to engage their brain — assuming they don’t want to lose it to some form or another of dementia. Sounds like sage (pun intended) advice.
My late mother used to do those Jumbles in the newspaper every day well into her 90s. Unfortunately, they did not prevent her from succumbing to age-related dementia which started around age 89-90 and ever so slowly progressed until by the time she passed away at age 97 she was so far down the rabbit hole we couldn’t even see her any more. I have been meaning to research the astrological indicators of dementia on and off for some time now, but that’s a project for another day…
Today (as you probably can see from the time log on this post) is April 1, 2019 and instead of writing a normal entry in my daily journal I decided to hand draw a sidereal astrology chart using the North Indian chart style because to my eye it looks a little “artsier” than the South Indian chart style (which I prefer).
While not the artsiest thing I’ve ever drawn, I kinda enjoyed the process. And since today is the first of the month and I like starting new things on the first of a month, I decided why not give myself a 30 day art challenge?
Voila!
The Astrological Illustration of the Day: 30 Day Art Challenge!
If I’m correct, this challenge could give three (possibly) great results: (1) improve my cognitive function; (2) increase my astrological understanding in hopefully beneficial ways; and (3) give me that needed kick in the backside to do something with my art on a daily basis.
If this piques your interest and/or your artist’s soul, let me know in the comments…
