I was tempted to add color to this floral zentangle-inspired black & white line drawing but since it’s Inktober, I decided to use black or sepia inks to produce my line art this month.
Art Supplies: Tsukineko Walnut ink, Elegant Writer Calligraphy pen, Pigma Micron 05, 08 Black, Derwent Line Maker 03 Sepia, Tim Holtz Distress crayon, Faber-Castell Gelatos on kraft journal paper

Artist’s tip: If you’re not already using lay flat sketchbooks, I’d like to encourage you to give them a try. They really do make the drawing process much more enjoyable. The perfect bind of the lay flat sketchbook is far superior to both spiral-bound and regular non-lay flat sketchbooks. For one thing, it’s a lot less ‘klutzy.’ When you’re drawing on the right hand side of a page you don’t have to hold the left side down with your hand or a giant binder clip like you do with a normal hard bound sketchbook. For another thing it makes scanning your drawings way easier to accomplish, especially when compared to spiral-bound sketchbooks.
